1. Acceptance and eligibility
By creating an account or purchasing the program, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Participant Agreement, and the Program & Safety Disclaimer. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. Your acceptance is recorded with the policy version and timestamp. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use paid features.
2. Educational service
The Four Bases of Love provides relationship education, self-reflection tools, a practice library, and a guided 30-day couples program. The service is not psychotherapy, couples counseling, medical care, legal advice, diagnosis, crisis intervention, or emergency support.
3. Optional private author conversations
We may offer limited, paid video conversations with the author about understanding and applying the book. These sessions are educational, are separate from the 30-day program purchase, and create no therapist-client, doctor-patient, attorney-client, fiduciary, pastoral-counseling, or other licensed professional relationship. Availability, session length, current fee, payment instructions, cancellation terms, scope, and participants are confirmed in writing before booking. Each person attending must be an adult and participate voluntarily. No participant may record a session without advance written consent from everyone present. We may decline or end a session that falls outside the educational scope or involves unsafe, threatening, abusive, or disruptive conduct.
4. Purchase and access
- The program is a one-time purchase, not a recurring subscription, unless checkout expressly states otherwise before payment.
- You prepare the first private account before checkout. It remains unable to open paid Temple content until Stripe confirms payment.
- One eligible purchase may connect two private partner accounts to one shared course space.
- “Lifetime access” and similar phrases mean access for the operational life of the program—not the lifetime of a purchaser or any guaranteed number of years. Access exists only while The Four Bases of Love continues to operate and offer the website or a successor version. If the business or program closes, becomes inactive, or the site is permanently removed, accounts and online access may end without a replacement service. Features, providers, and formats may also change.
- Payment-card information is processed by the payment provider and is not stored directly by The Four Bases of Love.
5. Refunds and billing issues
If Stripe confirms payment but we cannot activate or provide the paid program, contact hello@fourbasesoflove.com promptly. We will make a reasonable effort to restore access and, if we cannot fulfill the purchase, issue a refund to the original payment method. Except where applicable law requires otherwise or a separate written offer states otherwise, the purchase becomes final once the account first opens paid Temple content. When a full refund is issued, paid access for both connected accounts is revoked; account, progress, purchase, and legal-acceptance records may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy. We record first paid-content access time for fulfillment, refund, fraud, and dispute handling. Author-conversation payments, rescheduling, cancellations, and refunds follow the separate written terms accepted before that booking. Nothing here limits non-waivable consumer rights or prevents a customer from reporting an unauthorized or erroneous charge.
6. Accounts and partner connections
- Use accurate information, verify an email address you control, protect your password, and notify us of suspected unauthorized access.
- Each partner must use a separate account. Do not impersonate your partner or access their account without permission.
- Connected partners may see shared course completion. Diagnostic results follow the sharing choice of the person who completed them.
- Do not use invitations, progress, or results to monitor, pressure, shame, threaten, or control another person.
7. Consent and relationship safety
Every exercise must be voluntary. Either participant may pause or stop at any time. The Four Bases never require tolerating fear, coercion, threats, stalking, sexual pressure, controlling behavior, or physical harm. A shared couples exercise is not a substitute for individual safety planning or qualified support.
8. Intellectual property and permitted use
The website, program structure, written exercises, graphics, branding, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to The Four Bases of Love. A purchase grants a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right for the connected couple to use the program. You may not reproduce, sell, sublicense, publicly distribute, scrape, or create a competing product from the materials without written permission.
9. Prohibited conduct
You may not interfere with the service, bypass access controls, probe for vulnerabilities, upload malicious code, misuse invitations, harvest personal information, violate another person’s privacy, use the service unlawfully, or help anyone do so.
10. Third-party services
The service may rely on hosting, payment, transactional-email, video-conferencing, app-installation, and book-retail providers. Their policies and availability are controlled by them. We are not responsible for third-party sites, content, outages, or practices.
11. No professional relationship or promised result
Use does not create a therapist-client, doctor-patient, attorney-client, fiduciary, pastoral-counseling, or other professional relationship. We do not promise reconciliation, safety, satisfaction, conflict resolution, or any particular outcome.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, accuracy, or results. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Four Bases of Love will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits or data; relationship decisions; emotional distress; or harm arising from misuse. Aggregate liability for claims arising from a paid offering will not exceed the greater of the amount paid for that offering or US $100. This does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including fraud, willful misconduct, or gross negligence where applicable.
14. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify The Four Bases of Love from third-party claims and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful misuse, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person’s rights. This does not apply to claims caused by our unlawful conduct.
15. Suspension and termination
We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or legal rights; respond to fraud or security risk; or address a material violation. You may stop using the service and may request account deletion under the Privacy Policy. Provisions intended to survive termination remain effective.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by California law, except where the law of your residence provides non-waivable protections. Before filing a claim, contact us and allow 30 days for a good-faith effort to resolve it. Court proceedings must be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction. Nothing prevents an eligible small-claims filing or report to a regulator.
17. Changes and general terms
We may update these Terms prospectively. Each version of the legal documents has a number and effective date, listed with a summary of changes in the public version history. We will email account holders about material changes, and you must accept the current version before continuing to use member areas; if you do not accept, you may download your information and delete your account. Each purchase is governed by the version accepted at checkout, and your acceptances are recorded with their date and version. If one provision is unenforceable, the rest remain effective. Failure to enforce is not a waiver.
