1. Educational purpose
Content is general education and personal development—not psychotherapy, couples counseling, medical or mental-health care, diagnosis, treatment, legal advice, financial advice, religious direction, crisis response, or emergency service.
2. The diagnostic is not a clinical test
The diagnostic is a structured self-reflection exercise based on this educational framework. It is not presented as a validated psychological instrument, medical test, risk assessment, or predictor of relationship success. Scores are not diagnoses and must not be used to label, rank, prosecute, or control either partner.
3. Not appropriate for every relationship
Joint exercises can be unsafe where there is coercive control, intimidation, stalking, threats, sexual pressure, or violence. The Four Bases of Love cannot screen users, verify consent, or monitor activities. Seek individual support and safety planning. Do not confront a partner with this material if doing so may increase danger.
4. No guaranteed results
Examples, activities, stories, reviews, and testimonials describe possibilities or individual experiences, not promises. Results vary. The program does not guarantee reconciliation, satisfaction, safety, conflict reduction, intimacy, or another outcome.
5. Interpretation and cultural context
We aim to present practical interpretations of ancient Buddhist teachings accurately and respectfully, but explanations involve interpretation and may not reflect every tradition, culture, family structure, or professional viewpoint.
6. Author and book disclosure
The website is based on the published book The Four Bases of Love. Links to the book may generate ordinary author royalties. Third-party reader reviews are independently submitted and do not guarantee program results.
7. External resources
Links are provided for convenience. The Four Bases of Love does not control every statement, service, privacy practice, or availability of external organizations. Crisis information can change; use official linked sources or local services for current information.
8. Your responsibility
You remain responsible for your choices, boundaries, communications, technology use, and decision to seek professional or emergency help. Pause anything unsafe or harmful. Nothing requires forgiveness, reconciliation, disclosure, physical contact, or remaining in a relationship.
9. Service availability and “lifetime access”
“Lifetime access,” “permanent access,” and similar descriptions refer only to the operational life of the program. They do not promise access for the lifetime of a participant or for a guaranteed number of years. The website depends on an active business, hosting, payment, email, and other providers. If The Four Bases of Love stops operating the program, the business becomes inactive, or the site is permanently removed, accounts and online access will end and a replacement service or downloadable copy is not guaranteed.
